The draft Kiwi Leadership for Principals (KLP) document was launched by Hon. Chris Carter on 13 February 2008. It focuses on the role of the principal as an educational leader and, in its final form, will set the direction for principals professional learning. It contains a model of leadership based on the knowledge, qualities, and skills required to lead schools in the future. The KLP has been informed by the Educational Leadership Best Evidence Synthesis and is consistent with it.

Feedback on the document is now being analysed. A final document will be available in August 2008. However, you can still read the draft document here.
